Novoselytsya District State Administration is the beneficiary of the trilateral project “Increase of life activity safety in the valley of the river Prut”, implemented within the Joint operational Programme Romania – Ukraine – Republic of Moldova 2007-2013. One of the project results is the organization of volunteer groups to be engaged in different actions during emergency situation.

For the second year in a row, the volunteer groups together with professional firefighters and rescuers got involved in the ECDay campaign. On 15th of September, at the Novolselytsya Stadium, they offered professional performance and taught children (age 11-12) how to act in case of an emergency.

Mrs. Svetlana Skykuleak, who managed the organization of this event, mentioned:
“During the implementation of the trilateral project we learned many things from our colleagues from other European countries. Now, children learned from professional staff how to react in case of different emergency situations. They had a lot of work during the competition that was organized, but also a lot of fun. Together, we tried to send the message “prevent, rescue, help” with the occasion of the European Cooperation Day and the Day of the Rescuer. “
